ANSWER · BUY SIGNALS FOR AN AI AGENT

A stock buy-signals API your agent can read in one call.

A ranked list of candidates with scores and states, a regime verdict to read first, and the audit that lets you check it. Scores and states only.

free preview · MCP · x402 · research, not advice

Coil’s buy list is a stock signals API for an AI agent. One GET returns today’s ranked candidates, each scored 0 to 100 for opportunity, entry quality and hold strength and tagged with a state such as firing, ready, setup, wait or chase. The signals are research, not advice: they say what the chart looks like, never how much to buy, and Coil places no orders.

What a signal is

Each scored name carries opp_pct (how it ranks on opportunity), entry_q (buyable now, or already extended), hold_q (how durable the trend looks) and a state. Each book also carries a regime verdict with a plain-language reason. The board stops at scores and states: there are no position sizes, stop prices or target prices in it. Risk is defined by whoever runs the agent.

Read order for an agent

  1. The regime first. If the verdict is stand-down, the names below it are context and not a green light.
  2. The buy list next, instead of screening the whole market yourself.
  3. One name or one sector for anything the agent is serious about, and the hold-state read for anything it already holds.
  4. Then your own rules. Sizing, limits and the decision to act are yours.

The preview below is free, needs no wallet, and uses the same schema as the paid board. It shows the top names per book:

import requests

board = requests.get("https://coil.trade/api/board/agent?preview=1", timeout=20).json()
print(board["asof_daily"])
for n in board["names"][:5]:
    print(n["sym"], n["opp_pct"], n["entry_q"], n["hold_q"], n["state"])

The MCP route is get_buy_list on the free MCP server. The paid, live buy list is GET /api/board/buylist, quoted in the quickstart table and in the catalogue; the quickstart has the code to pay for it from Python, TypeScript or curl.

Check the signals before you rely on them

/api/board/signal-audit marks Coil’s own scores to market and is published whether the result flatters us or not. /api/board/proof is an append-only sha256 commitment log, so a published score cannot be quietly rewritten after the outcome. Read both before you let an agent act on any score, ours or anyone else’s.

What this is not

It is not a promise that a ranked name goes up, and a high score is not an instruction. An agent that trades on your behalf can lose money faster than you would, so start with confirmations on, a budgeted account and an agent that stops at a preview. If your agent trades through Robinhood, this recipe shows the read order that closes the loop.

Impersonal research publication. Everything Coil publishes is identical for every reader: scores and states about stocks, never individualized advice and never a recommendation to buy or sell a particular security for you. Markets can lose money, and an agent that acts on a score can lose it faster. Coil never sends orders and never sees your wallet key or your brokerage account. See the terms and the disclosures.
