Refund Policy

1. All sales are final

Coil is a single one-time digital download — $29 at launch (regular $49) — that you keep and run forever. When you complete a purchase, you receive your download and a license key right away: delivery is instant and automatic, and the software runs entirely on your own machine. Because an instant download can't be un-downloaded once it is on your computer, all sales are final for the download. The engine itself has no subscription and nothing to cancel. (Coil Scanner, the optional hosted board subscription, works differently — see the section below.)

Please make sure Coil is right for you before you buy — read how it works and the FAQ first, and be comfortable with the risks. The one thing we always correct is a genuine billing error; that's covered below.

1a. Coil Scanner subscriptions

Coil Scanner ($12/month or $99/year) is a recurring subscription billed through Gumroad. You can cancel anytime from your Gumroad library — no email required, no retention flow — and access continues to the end of the period you already paid for. We do not prorate or refund partial periods: cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep what you paid for until it lapses. Billing errors on subscriptions (duplicate charges, wrong amounts, charges after a confirmed cancellation) are always corrected — see below. If we ever discontinue the publication, subscriptions are cancelled so nobody is billed for a product that no longer publishes.

2. The one exception: billing errors

"All sales are final" is about change-of-mind refunds on a product you received and can keep. It is not a licence to keep money that was charged in error. If something on the payment side went wrong, we will always make it right:

• Duplicate charges — you were billed more than once for the same purchase.
• Wrong amount — you were charged something other than the listed price.
• A charge you never authorized — a payment you did not make or approve.

These are billing corrections, not change-of-mind refunds, and we process them promptly through Gumroad. If a genuine delivery failure means you never received a working download and we cannot get it to you, tell us and we will make that right too.

3. How a billing correction is processed

Your purchase is made with Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record for Coil. That means Gumroad handles checkout, billing, tax, receipts, license keys, and any corrections on our behalf.

• An approved billing correction is processed through Gumroad and returned to your original payment method.
• The receipt email from your purchase includes a link to manage your order, and your Gumroad Library at app.gumroad.com/library lists everything you have bought. You can also email us and we will help.
• Once a correction is approved, the time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer, and is outside our control.

4. What this policy does not cover

A billing correction covers only what you paid for the software. It never extends to anything that happens in your own brokerage account when you run Coil.

5. How to reach us about a charge

For a suspected billing error — a duplicate charge, the wrong amount, or a charge you didn't make — do either of the following:

• Use Gumroad directly — open the receipt link from your purchase email, or go to your Gumroad Library at app.gumroad.com/library to manage your order, or
• Email us at support@coil.trade with your order number or receipt and we will help.

We aim to respond within 1–2 business days, and having your order number or receipt handy helps us resolve things faster.

This policy is offered in addition to — and does not limit — any statutory consumer rights you may have under the law of your jurisdiction. Because Gumroad is the merchant of record for your purchase, Gumroad's own buyer terms and refund handling also apply alongside this policy. Coil is operated by the operator of Coil; where this policy and applicable consumer law differ, the protections that are more favorable to you apply.
